Craft: Seema Krish Textiles and Wall Coverings

We had the pleasure of welcoming Seema Krish to our office, where she shared her journey into textile design and the inspiration behind her beautiful work. Based in San Francisco, Seema is a designer and craftsperson making handmade interior textiles and wall coverings that draw deeply from her Indian heritage. Her work is heavily informed by the many cities she has lived in across the world, from Bombay to Boston. Sustainability is a central value at her studio, where they use natural fiber cloths and non-toxic, organic dyes. Her work has been featured in Interior Design Magazine, San Francisco Magazine, House Beautiful, Veranda, and more. Seema holds a BFA in Textile/Surface Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

Since the launch of our Carbon Budget initiative, we’ve implemented the dashboard on over a dozen projects. In this blog series, we'll deep dive into specific projects, outlining how we're tracking both the predicted operational and embodied carbon emissions as the project progresses, which in turn, will result in more sensitive and resilient designs that emit less carbon.

After the devastating fires that displaced thousands in Altadena and the Pacific Palisades in January of 2025, the team at Feldman Architecture felt moved to craft a design solution that directly responded to the place and the need.

Earlier this year, we had the pleasure of welcoming Kate Greenberg to our office, where she shared her journey into furniture design and the inspiration behind her amazing work. Based in Oakland, Kate is an artist and designer working across furniture, lighting, and objects. Her work has been featured in The Local Project, Surface Magazine, Dezeen, and Architectural Digest, and has been exhibited in the Bay Area, New York, and Milan. In addition to her practice, she curates Works in Progress—an ongoing exhibition series celebrating the Bay Area’s vibrant craft and design community. Kate holds a Master’s degree in Furniture from California College of the Arts.

We're exploring four emerging building materials that offer exciting potential for sustainable design: hemp-lime for carbon-negative insulation, cork for natural fire-resistant cladding, atmospheric water generation panels for off-grid water supply, and phase change insulation for thermal energy storage. Each material aligns with our commitment to resilient, regenerative low-impact architecture.
