Designer Kyra Johnston
Kyra joined Feldman Architecture in 2025 after completing her Master of Architecture at UC Berkeley, where she was recognized as one of Metropolis Magazine’s Top 100 design students. She previously studied at the Bartlett School of Architecture in London and worked at ZGF Architects in Los Angeles. At Berkeley, she explored the intersections of environmentalism and architectural theory, highlighted through her work with the (Im)material Matters Lab, serving as the Student Lead for an exhibition at the Center for Architecture + Design in San Francisco, where her models and work were featured.
Originally from Hong Kong, Kyra grew up in a city where dense urban life and lush landscapes coexist, shaping her appreciation for the dialogue between architecture and nature. This sensibility grounds her design process, which begins with a close reading of each site and seeks to highlight what makes it unique. Beyond the studio, she carries this love of place into her time outdoors, often hiking and photographing natural landscapes.
