STUDIO CULTURE
Feldman Architecture is made up of a team of talented individuals, committed to creating beautiful, meaningful work. Together we strive to further our shared passions of design, innovation, sustainability, and collaboration. We believe in maintaining a healthy work life balance and aim to provide support, professional advancement, and an enjoyable daily experience for all of our employees.
Our studio culture is informal and collaborative, allowing everyone’s voice to be heard. Each designer is involved from schematic design through the construction of the project. Responsibility is shared throughout our various teams, with every member contributing to the drawing, designing, and development of the project.
As a firm, we are committed to staying current in a variety of areas. Our designers frequently attend professional conferences, tradeshows, lectures, and seminars to gain new insight and knowledge to share with their peers. As artists, we look for inspiration everywhere, and thus strive to interact with professionals outside our sector that are engaged in dance, painting, cooking, and tech, just to name a few. Every month, we host a guest speaker from a field of interest and discuss their craft over wine and hors d’oeuvres. In the past we have hosted professional choreographers, blacksmiths, woodworkers, and various craftsmen to share their knowledge and trade with our team.
In office, we have multiple committees that are each responsible for an area of expertise, whether it is graphics, sustainability, interiors, design, philanthropy, or fun! Creativity and discussion are cultivated through our Sketch Club, regular informal project critiques, and jobsite visits. Our in house mentorship program allows all levels of designers to come together and discuss topics pertaining to our field.
Beyond professional development, we’re also dedicated to creating a collective and fun atmosphere in the workplace where everyone can communicate not just as coworkers, but also as friends. On Mondays the office eats lunch together and shares project updates, while on Fridays the larger office will go out to eat together at one of the surrounding neighborhood restaurants. We host monthly office game nights and never shy away from celebrating birthdays or silly national holidays. Coming to the office rarely feels like a chore when you enjoy the company of those you work with, which is why we make the utmost effort to care for and support each and every member of the Feldman Architecture family.
