Q: Where are you from?
I was born and raised here in San Francisco. I grew up in the Inner Richmond and in Pacific Heights. I also spent some time in Marin County when my mother moved there several years ago. I ended up going to boarding school on the East coast for high school, though (Phillips Academy in Andover, MA). After nearly nine years in New England for high school and college, I recently moved back to SF and I couldn’t be happier. One of the most beautiful and naturally gifted places on earth! I’m lucky to call such a diverse and dynamic city my home.
Q: Where did you go to school?
I recently graduated from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. I earned a BS in Graphic Design and Brand Management and had minors in Global Fashion Studies and Art History. While at school I studied abroad in Paris and in Florence, which were amazing experiences! Northeastern is known for their co-op program, which are essentially 6-month, full-time paid internships (you don’t attend classes during these). I completed three co-ops while at Northeastern, two of which were marketing roles in the AEC industry. I’m very excited to continue my marketing career in the architecture industry here at Feldman.
Q: Tell me about your family.
I grew up in San Francisco with my parents and one older brother, who is now a commercial real estate broker living in Scottsdale, AZ. My brother is only 17 months older than I am, so we were very close growing up and remain close to this day. Our house was just one block away from Golden Gate Park, so our weekends were often filled with bike riding through the park and visits to the de Young and Academy of Sciences. My parents met after college while on the board of the Junior Arts Council of the Fine Arts Museums of SF—needless to say I love museum-going! They actually both went to UC Berkeley, but somehow never crossed paths. My entire extended family hails from California and lives in and around the Bay Area. I have two cousins who are very close in age to my brother and I, and I consider them my second siblings. They are both in college, one at SMU and one at ASU. I feel lucky to have such a close relationship with them!
Q: What is the most interesting aspect of architecture to you?
I have worked in marketing at a couple firms in the industry, but they both did primarily commercial projects. A lot of my focus was on the RFP and proposal process which often moved very quickly. Joining Feldman, I am really interested in the more nuanced and personal approach that comes with residential architecture. I am excited to learn more about the process of designing for our clients and the level of individual collaboration. I'm fascinated by how our team transforms a client’s vision into something beautiful and real.
Q: What is the last show you binge watched?
Better Call Saul—I love the Breaking Bad universe. But I also recently watched Season 7 of Love Island USA (nowhere near as good as the last season…).
Q: Favorite SF hidden gem?
The Brazen Head in Cow Hollow. And not really a “hidden” gem, but I love the Tunnel Tops in the Presidio, especially at sunset.
Q: What are the top three things on your bucket list?
Owning a little market/hardware/convenience store in a quaint country town. Living in Paris. Running a printmaking business.
Q: What are five features you would include in your dream home?
Large claw foot bathtub. Abundant natural light. A cute breakfast nook (I love breakfast). An arts and crafts and sewing studio—maybe with a darkroom. A swimming pool with a huge patio, complete with an outdoor shower.
Q: Where are you most excited to travel next?
I don’t have anything on the books right now, but I would love to go to Greece! Also Copenhagen. Also Cinque Terre. The list is long.
