Chris Kay joined Feldman Architecture in early 2018, just eight months after relocating to the bay area from his hometown Birmingham, Alabama. Prior to earning a bachelor’s of architecture from Auburn University, he studied two years of graphic design at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). During his final year at Auburn he began working for Appleseed Workshop, designing commercial, office, and residential projects in the historical downtown Birmingham.
In 2017 he came to San Francisco to continue his career in architecture and industrial design. Since arriving he has designed and drafted shop drawings for fabrication, consulted machine shop setups for tech giants, and maintained an automated robotics lab in the biomedical sector of South San Francisco. He is pleased and excited to continue his path with Feldman Architecture as he develops and hones his craft as a designer, fabricator, and collector of unneeded hand tools. In his free time, Chris enjoys building furniture, reading, and hitting the occasional motorcycle engine with a hammer.
