Intermediate Designer
We are seeking a highly motivated, personable, and detail-oriented individual to join our staff as a Intermediate Designer.
The ideal candidate is a highly creative designer who shares our aesthetic sensitivity, commitment to environmental stewardship, and has exceptional technical abilities to work primarily as part of a small team while also efficiently handling independent tasks. This individual will embody Feldman Architecture’s core values: professionalism, teamwork, passion, and commitment. They have residential design experience (new construction and/or remodeling), strong Revit skills and a demonstrated ability to detail projects, and commercial or hospitality experience is a plus. The ideal candidate is capable of coordinating consultants and project teams under strict deadlines and is experienced in all stages of design and documentation, approaching each project with a collaborative attitude and high integrity.
The position is full time with a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, 401K, a transit plan, continuing education funds and exam reimbursements, and paid volunteer time.
Bachelor or Master of Architecture degree
3+ years of architectural work experience, preferably 2 years minimum in high-end, custom residential design practice
Highly organized individual who engages on all aspects of projects, from schematic design onward
Passion for elegant, sustainable solutions and for creating high-quality design
Working knowledge of SketchUp, Lumion, and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Proficiency in Revit with 3D modeling skills; Rhino or Enscape desired
Familiarity with residential construction, including appropriate products, specifications, detailing, and documentation methods
Comprehensive knowledge of building codes and entitlements process
Experience managing Consultant Coordination, including Structural, Civil, Landscape, Lighting, Mechanical, Geotechnical and Surveyors
Ability to manage deadlines and participate in multiple projects
Strong written and verbal communication, conceptual design, and schematic design skills
Independent self-starter as well as collaborative team player who thrives in an open environment
Willing to take on new challenges and embrace office culture and values
Hybrid opportunity to both work from home as well as three days a week (at minimum) in our lively design studio in San Francisco - a recently renovated Fire House off of Polk Street.
